Chief Executive Officer

Roger Ladd

Roger Ladd has served as the Chief Executive Officer of N.C. Detective Agency since 1996, bringing decades of leadership, public safety experience, and a clear vision for elevating the security industry.

Prior to joining NCDA, Roger dedicated 14 years to the City of Durham as a Public Safety Officer, a dual role that encompassed both law enforcement and firefighting responsibilities. His career in public service was cut short due to an on-duty injury, but his commitment to protecting others never wavered.

When Roger assumed leadership of NCDA, he set out with a mission: to move beyond the traditional security guard model and redefine what professional security should represent. Under his guidance, the company has focused on professionalism, training, accountability, and a higher standard of service, helping to change the perception of the industry as a whole.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Roger is deeply rooted in family values. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Sandra, since 1975. Together, they have three sons and seven grandchildren. In his personal time, Roger enjoys being with his family and spending time at the beach.

Roger's leadership continues to shape NCDA's culture and commitment to excellence, ensuring the organization remains a trusted and forward-thinking security partner.

Vice President

Kevin Ladd

Kevin Ladd has served as Vice President of N.C. Detective Agency since 2010 and helps carry forward the family leadership, service-minded culture, and operational accountability that define the company.

A graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in communications, Kevin supports NCDA's commitment to professional security, strong communication, and dependable client relationships.

Training & Compliance

Licensed through North Carolina PPSB.

Many of our officers are former law enforcement professionals or military veterans. Every officer is certified and licensed through the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board, ensuring professionalism, training, and compliance.

Our leadership team maintains an open-door approach and is always available to support our employees. At the same time, we operate with a strong chain of command to ensure clear communication, accountability, and operational excellence.
